TL : DR it’s most likely an addon giving you problems. And plate you do know will say nothing in the tooltip.
Without the addon or a similar one, if you look at mail on a plate wearer, it won’t show if you know it. Also UIs like ElvUi and (i think) LUI allow you to control the unitframe caster bars the character, target, focus, and possibly even the target of target. all allow you to set them so you see cast bars in enemy name plates even when you're not targeting them. So far i got to 67 just love to know what are your for those addon users. Most name plate addons like Plater, Tidy Plates, Kui, etc. Anyways moving on the actual subject I love this addon very much and have been working hard two years in progression. The addon I mentioned will say if you know an item or not regardless of class as long as the appearance has been cached. For those who don’t know if you want to complete wow ATT Addon helps you reach that real 100 the game doesn’t tell you. Like a priest/lock/mage to see if you know a cloth item. Try going to a character that uses the armor and searching to see if it shows in the appearance list. If you have an addon running that uses something like that (Can I mog it, is my fav) it may glitch and say you don’t know something when you actually do if you haven’t logged into a character that can use that particular armor type (cache hasn’t refreshed or w/e).
If you are asking why the tooltip says you don’t know something and you know you have the appearance on a class that can use it, you should probably update your addons.ĭefault for the tooltip (no addons running at all) is no message at all on whether you know an appearance or not unless it’s your classes armor type.
